Public Interest cases

· Diederich v. Supervisor Hurley– Mr. Diederich’s effort to determine the extent of possible taxpayer hard perpetrated by the former Town Supervisor, convicted on felony corruption charges.

· Morgan et al v. Town of Orangetown and N.Y.S. Comptroller– Mr. Diederich’s effort to protect taxpayers against local government’s defrauding of the N.Y.S. retirement system, paid for by taxpayers.

· Diederich v. Rockland County Police Chief’s Association – Mr. Diederich’s opposition to small police chiefs being paid exorbitant salaries and potentially defrauding the N.Y.S. Retirement System.

· Diederich v. Rockland County Solid Waste Management Authority-- Mr. Diederich’s opposition to the county’s waste authority paying $104,000 for a single, and unauthorized, 13 ½ page “friend of the court” legal brief.

· Diederich intervention sought in Chief Judge Judith Kaye v. New York State—Mr. Diederich’s efforts for the State’s judiciary to become beholden to the public, not powerful non-citizen interest, in their quest for fair judicial pay.

· Wetzel v Town of Orangetown et al—Mr. Diederich’s representation of a police woman opposing gender discrimination and political cronyism.

· Mr. Diederich has served in Iraq as a member of the U.S. Army Judge Advocate General “JAG” Corps.  He is a lieutenant colonel in the U.S. Army reserve.
